About Strong Roots BJJ

Strong Roots BJJ is a community-based Brazilian Jiu Jitsu organization serving Hampton Roads, Virginia through training, mentorship, and youth outreach.

Our Story

Founded in Virginia Beach by veterans and community leaders, Strong Roots BJJ Foundation was created to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent children from training in martial arts. We believe the values learned in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — perseverance, respect, discipline, and resilience — extend far beyond the mats.
